How to Install and Get Started with WordPress

Step 1: Choose Your Hosting and Domain

Before installing WordPress, you’ll need:

  • A domain name – your website’s address (e.g., yourwebsite.com).
  • Web hosting – a service that stores your website’s files online.

Most hosting providers, such as Bluehost, SiteGround, or Hostinger, offer one-click WordPress installation, making setup incredibly simple.

Step 2: Install WordPress

You can install WordPress in two ways:

  1. One-Click Install:
    • Log into your hosting dashboard.
    • Look for the “Install WordPress” option.
    • Follow the prompts and set your admin username and password.
  2. Manual Installation:
    • Download WordPress from wordpress.org.
    • Upload it to your web server using FTP.
    • Create a database via your hosting control panel.
    • Run the installation wizard by visiting your domain.

Step 3: Set Up Your Website

Once installed, log in to your WordPress Dashboard (yourdomain.com/wp-admin). From here, you can:

  • Choose a Theme: Go to Appearance → Themes to customize your site’s design.
  • Install Plugins: Add features like contact forms, SEO tools, and image optimization.
  • Create Pages and Posts: Start adding content using the block editor.

Step 4: Launch Your Site

When everything looks good, hit “Publish.” Your WordPress site is now live! Keep it updated regularly for security, performance, and fresh content.
